Tony nominee John Dossett is set to join the cast of Pippin on Broadway in the role of Charles on August 26. Dossett will take over the role for the current Charles and original Pippin, John Rubinstein, who will depart the Broadway production on August 24 to join the national tour.

The current cast features Kyle Dean Massey as Pippin, Ciara Renée as Leading Player, Tony Award nominee Charlotte d’Amboise as Fastrada, Rachel Bay Jones as Catherine, and Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez as Berthe. Other members of the company include Erik Altemus, Eli Tokash, Ashton Woerz, Colin Cunliffe, Ariana DeBose, Andrew Fitch, Orion Griffiths, Sabrina Harper, Lauren Joy Herley, Naël Jammal, Nicolas Jelmoni, Sam Lips, Richard Maguire, Brad Musgrove, Charlotte O’Sullivan, Adam Roberts, Masha Terentieva, Molly Tynes, and Kristen Beth Williams.

Helmed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus, the revival of Stephen Schwartz and Roger O. Hirson's classic coming-of-age musical features the death-defying tricks of a contemporary circus with choreography by Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse, and features circus creations by Gypsy Snider of the circus troupe Les 7 doigts de la main. The production is now playing at the Music Box Theater.

Pippin will launch a U.S. national tour in September at the Buell Theatre in Denver. Productions are also planned for London, Australia, and Amsterdam in 2015.
