I’m Not Rappaport to Close September 8. For Real. No Kidding!

The Broadway revival of Herb Gardner’s comedy I’m Not Rappaport will close on Sunday, September 8 after having played 15 previews and 53 regular performances.

Good notices didn’t seem to help box office sales for Rappaport, which has spent the last few weeks on life support but, until now, refused to die. The feisty show took down its first provisional closing notice in late August, citing a boost in sales, and did the same thing again the following week; the latest closing announcement appears to be for keeps, though.

This production of I’m Not Rappaport, directed by Daniel Sullivan and starring Ben Vereen and Judd Hirsch, opened at the Booth Theatre on July 25, 2002 following an extensive tour of the U.S.
