Signature Theatre Company announced that Lois Smith and Hallie Foote will star in Horton Foote’s The Trip to Bountiful, while Lili Taylor and Sherie Rene Scott will headline John Guare’s Landscape of the Body during the company’s 15th Anniversary Signature Series season.

Smith is a two-time Tony nominee (for Buried Child and The Grapes of Wrath), while Hallie Foote is the daughter of the playwright Horton Foote, and has starred in a number of plays by her father, including The Last of the Thorntons and The Carpetbaggers Children.

The Trip to Bountiful tells the story of Carrie Watts (Smith), who — despite her failing health — makes a return journey to her childhood home of Bountiful, Texas, where she hasn’t been in thirty years. Harris Yulin is set to direct the production, which opens December 4.

Taylor starred Off-Broadway in Aunt Dan and Lemon and Dead Eye Boy, and is well known for her film work, including a memorable turn as Valerie Solanas in I Shot Andy Warhol. Scott is currently starring in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, for which she received a Tony nomination as Best Actress in a Musical.

Landscape of the Body is set in 1970s Greenwich Village, where a slew of mysterious and seemingly isolated events connect a group of people on a nightmarish quest for the American Dream. Michael Greif, the Tony-nominated director of Rent, will stage the production, which begins previews March 28.

In addition, Signature has established a special $15 ticket for all performances (regularly $55), made possible by a leadership gift from Time Warner, Inc. For additional information, visit www.signaturetheatre.org.
