Mark Jacoby will join previously announced stars Sandy Duncan and Diane J. Findlay in the Barrington Stage Company’s semi-staged concert production of the classic Jerry Herman musical Mame, October 4-15. The production will be directed by Julianne Boyd, the company’s artistic director. Additional casting is still to be announced.

Jacoby, who will play Mame’s husband, Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside, was seen last season on Broadway as Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd. He received a Tony Award nomination of Harold Prince’s revival of Show Boat and his other Broadway credits include Ragtime, Grand Hotel, Man of La Mancha, Sweet Charity, and The Phantom of the Opera, in which he played the title role for three years.

Mame debuted on Broadway in 1966 with Angela Lansbury in the lead; that production ran for over 1,500 performances. Lansbury also starred in a short-lived 1983 Broadway revival. Earlier this summer, Christine Baranski played the role in the Kennedy Center’s production of the musical.
