Marlo Thomas to Star in Moving Right Along at SF’s Magic Theatre

Emmy Award winner Marlo Thomas will star in Moving Right Along, a collection of three short plays, at San Francisco’s Magic Theatre, October 21-November 19. The cast will also include actor/director Mark Rydell, Wanda McCaddon, Julia Brothers, and Daveed Diggs.

The three plays are George is Dead, written and directed by Elaine May; Trotsky is Dead, written by Jan Mirochek and directed by May, and On the Way, written by May and directed by her daughter, actress Jeannie Berlin.

Thomas has starred on Broadway in Thieves, Social Security, and The Shadow Box, and has appeared Off-Broadway in The Vagina Monologues, The Guys, and The Exonerated. Her many television and film credits include Nobody’s Child, Friends, Free to Be…You & Me, and the series That Girl.

Rydell is best known for directing such films as Cinderella Liberty, The Rose, On Golden Pond, and The River. As an actor, he appeared on the soap operas As the World Turns and Edge of Night, and recently guest starred on Everwood. May is best known for her performing work with Mike Nichols. Her previous plays include After the Night and the Music, Adult Entertainment, and Hot Line. She is a two-time Oscar nominee for the screenplays of Heaven Can Wait and Primary Colors.
