Vanessa Redgrave to be Honored at Hamptons Film Festival

Tony Award winner Vanessa Redgrave will be honored with the Goldfish Starfish Award for Career Achievement in Acting at the Hamptons International Film Festival, which will be held in Long Island, October 17-21. At the festival, Redgrave will also participate in a conversation with actor Alec Baldwin, and there will be a screening of her new film, The Shell Seekers.

The festival’s other special conversation will take place between celebrated director Sidney Lumet and journalist Adam Green. The festival will include a screening of Lumet’s latest film, Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke.

More than 100 films will be shown at the festival. Highlights include Bob Balaban’s Bernard and Doris, starring Oscar winner Susan Sarandon as heiress Doris Duke and Tony winner Ralph Fiennes as her gay butler; the documentary Grey Gardens: From East Hampton to Broadway; The Savages, an offbeat family drama starring Hoffman and Laura Linney; and Starting Out in the Evening, starring Tony winner Frank Langella, Lauren Ambrose, Lili Taylor, and Adrian Lester.
