Matt Bogart to Join Broadway Cast of Jersey Boys

Matt Bogart will take over the role of Nick Massi in the Broadway cast of Jersey Boys, beginning September 30. Bogart succeeds original cast member J. Robert Spencer, who will play his final performance September 14. In the interim, the role will be played by John Leone.

The show, which tells the story of the music group The Four Seasons, is written by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and is directed by Des McAnuff and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo. It was first produced at the La Jolla Playhouse and opened at Broadway’s August Wilson Theater on November 6, 2005. It won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical.

Bogart’s previous Broadway credits include Aida, Miss Saigon, The Civil War, and Smokey Joe’s Café. Additional credits include the national tour of Camelot, and the world premieres of Zhivago and Ace.
