Andy Karl and Quinn VanAntwerp will join the Broadway company of Jersey Boys, at the August Wilson Theatre, beginning with the Tuesday, October 11 performance. They replace, respectively, Dominic Nolfi as Tommy Devito and Ryan Jesse as Bob Gaudio. In addition, Erik Bates will play the role of Tommy DeVito for performances September 27 through October 9.

The musical is based on the life story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, and chronicles the lives of a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. It won numerous awards, including the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical.

The show has a book by Academy Award-winner Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and features dozens of the group’s popular hits, including “Walk Like a Man,” “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Oh What a Night,” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.”

Karl originated the role of Luke in Altar Boyz Off-Broadway, with Broadway credits including 9 to 5, Legally Blonde, Wicked, and Saturday Night Fever.

VanAntwerp will be making his Broadway debut, after having played this role for three years both on tour and in Toronto, for which he was nominated for a Dora Award.
