Susan Ferrara's new play BUZZ will have an invited industry-only reading at the Atlantic Stage 2, on September 23. Eleanor Holdridge will direct.
Winner of the 2012 Next Generation Playwriting Award-Reverie Productions, BUZZ is inspired by the short life and mysterious death of UK director MaryAnn "Buzz" Goodbody. One of only three women directing in the UK in the 1970s, Buzz Goodbody was the first woman to direct at the RSC. In 1975, Goodbody famously mounted a minimalist, ground breaking production of Hamlet. Four days after the first performance, she was found dead in her flat.
