Four stars from the upcoming Broadway musical After Midnight — Bryonha Marie Parham, Carmen Ruby Floyd, Rosena M. Hill Jackson, and former The West Wing star Dulé Hill — were invited to perform for President Obama and the First Lady during a U.N. General Assembly summit reception at the Waldorf Astoria yesterday.

The performance included Hill singing "I've Got the World on a String"; Parham, Floyd, and Jackson singing "Devil in the Deep Blue Sea"; and Floyd singing "Creole Love Call."

"I really enjoyed it," said Hill in an interview with the AP. "It's not something that happens every day. When they asked me, it wasn't like I said, 'Well, let me check my schedule. I might want to watch the game.'"

After Midnight celebrates jazz legend Duke Ellington and his years performing at the legendary Cotton Club. The show begins previews October 18 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre and opens November 3.
