Katherine Helmond to Star in Sister Mozart

Stage and screen favorite Katherine Helmond will star in Harry Clark’s Sister Mozart, a theatrical portrait with classical music, at 2pm on Sunday, November 6 at the Stamford Center for the Arts’ Rich Forum. The show kicks of f this year’s Webster Bank Parallel Portrait Series.

Helmond will play Maria Anna Nanneri, the elder sister of the great composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who attempts to create a life for herself in the shadow of her brother and overbearing father. Clark, a cellist, and pianist Sandra Schuldman will also perform.

Helmond’s Broadway credits include The Great God Brown, for which she received a Tony Award nomination, Mixed Emotions, and Private Lives. She has appeared Off-Broadway in The House of Blue Leaves and The Oldest Profession. She was recently seen in the Chicago production of Morning’s at Seven.

A six-time Emmy Award nominee, Helmond has starred on the TV sitcoms Soap, Coach, Who’s The Boss?, and Everybody Loves Raymond. Her film credits include Family Plot, Brazil, and Overboard.
