Brian Stokes Mitchell, David Hyde Pierce, Lauren Ambrose, and Dominic Chianese will star in a benefit concert presentation of the musical A Wonderful Life, to be held at 7pm on Monday, December 12 at the Shubert Theater. Carl Andress will direct the concert, which will feature choreography by Denis Jones and musical direction by Jeff Saver. All proceeds will benefit The Actors’ Fund of America.

Written by Tony Award winner Sheldon Harnick and Emmy winner Joe Raposo, the musical is based on the classic 1946 Frank Capra film It’s a Wonderful Life. It concerns a man named George Bailey, who contemplates suicide on Christmas Eve before his life is saved by an angel named Clarence.

Mitchell, who will play George Bailey, won a Tony Award for his performance in Kiss Me, Kate and has also starred on Broadway in such shows as Man of La Mancha and Ragtime. Pierce, who will play Clarence, is currently starring in Monty Python’s Spamalot and is best known for his Emmy-winning role on Frasier. Ambrose, who will play Mary Bailey, is best known for her role as Lauren on Six Feet Under. Chianese, who will play Mr. Potter, is known for his work on The Sopranos and starred last season in the Off-Broadway production of Woody Allen’s A Second Hand Memory.

Tickets to the benefit range in price from $75 to $1,000. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 212-221-7300, ext. 133 or visit www.actorsfund.org.
