Lisa Emery to Star in EST’s Lucy

Lisa Emery will star in Lucy, to play Ensemble Studio Theatre, October 24-November 19. The production, which will open officially on October 29, will be directed by William Carden, EST’s artistic director.

Co-presented by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Lucy focuses on Vivian, an anthropologist who is suddenly forced to care for her estranged — and autistic — teenage daughter. Atkins’ other plays include Miss Chatelaine, Good Mother, and Real Live Girl.

The cast will also include Lucy DeVito, Christopher Duva, Keira Naughton, and Scott Sowers. The creative team includes Ryan Kravetz (sets), Suzanne Chesney (costumes), Chris Dallos (lighting), and David Lawson (sound).

Emery has appeared on Broadway in The Smell of the Kill, The Women, Present Laughter and Burn This. She received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Abigail’s Party and Obie Awards for Iron and Curtains.
