Krakowski, Mitchell, O’Hara, Stew, Wilson, et al. to Join Elton John for Benefit Concert

Additional performers have been announced for a benefit concert celebrating the 35th Anniversary of Elton John and Bernie Taupin’s legendary double album, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, to be presented at the New Amsterdam Theater, Monday October 20, at 8pm. Andy Blankenbuehler will direct and choreograph the event, which will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Elton John AIDS Foundation, and Friends in Deed.

Elton John will be joined by performers including Joey Arias, Ben Folds, Melissa Hough, Larry Keigwin, Jane Krakowski, Lin-Manuel Miranda, John Cameron Mitchell, Kelli O’Hara, Sherie Rene Scott, Jake Shears, Stew, Rufus Wainwright, and Patrick Wilson. In addition, the concert will feature The Broadway Inspirational Voices and the casts of New York Shakespeare Festival’s Hair and Disney’s The Lion King. Tom Kitt will serve as musical director.

In addition to being one of the world’s top-selling recording artists, John has written the scores for Broadway’s The Lion King, Lestat, and the current Billy Elliot.
