Erin Leigh Peck will temporarily replace Nancy Opel in the Off-Broadway musical The Toxic Avenger, at New World Stages, October 26-November 8, while Opel is on vacation.

The musical — featuring book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro, music by Bon Jovi’s David Bryan, and direction by Tony Award winner John Rando — focuses on an aspiring earth scientist tossed into a vat of radioactive goo who becomes New Jersey’s superhero, The Toxic Avenger. The New York company also features Diana DeGarmo, Nick Cordero, Demond Green, and Jonathan Root.

Peck, who will play the role of Mayor Babs Belgoody and other characters, has been the musical’s understudy for all the female roles since the run began. Her Broadway credits include Brighton Beach Memoirs, Grease!, and Dance of the Vampires, with TV roles including As the World Turns, Guiding Light, One Life to Live, and the Mohegan Sun commercials, in which she appears as Jessica Sparsky.
