Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba will take over the part of Phyllis in A.R. Gurney’s new play, Heresy, at the Flea Theater beginning October 19. She replaces Kathy Najimy, who is departing the show to begin filming a TV project.

The play is set in the near future, but tells an age-old story. It centers on a couple named Mary and Joseph who come to Homeland Security to appeal to prefect Pontius Pilate for the release of their son.

The cast also includes Reg E. Cathey, Tommy Crawford, Steve Mellor, Annette O’Toole, Danny Rivera, and Ariel Woodiwiss.

The production, directed by Jim Simpson, opens Thursday, October 11 and is set to run through November 4.
