Meet Stephanie J. Block, Will Chase, Chita Rivera, and the Merry Would-Be Murderers of The Mystery of Edwin Drood

The cast of Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Rupert Holmes’ The Mystery of Edwin Drood met the press on Tuesday, October 2 at their rehearsal studio. Directed by Scott Ellis, the production begins previews on October 19 at Studio 54 in advance of a November 13 opening.

Set in a London musical hall, the musical follows a group of performers as they act out the first performance of their version of Charles Dickens’ unfinished novel The Mystery of Edwin Drood. The interactive work allows the audience to choose the killer of young Edwin Drood, the identity of mysterious figure Dick Datchery, and which characters will end up romantically attached. The show’s ending changes nightly.

Block (Edwin Drood), Will Chase (John Jasper), Gregg Edelman (Reverend Mr. Crisparkle), Jim Norton (Chairman) and Chita Rivera (Princess Puffer) with Andy Karl (Neville Landless), Jessie Mueller (Helena Landless), Betsy Wolfe (Rosa Bud), Nicholas Barasch (Deputy), Peter Benson (Bazzard), Robert Creighton (Durdles), Alison Cimmet, Nick Corley, Janine DiVita, Jenifer Foote, Justin Greer, Shannon Lewis, Spencer Plachy, Kiira Schmidt, Eric Sciotto, Jim Walton, and Cody Williams.

The creative team includes Warren Carlyle (choreographer), Paul Gemignani (musical director), Anna Louizos (sets), William Ivey Long (costumes), Brian Nason (lighting) and Tony Meola (sound).
