Full Cast, Creative Team Set for Theatreworks’ Henry and Mudge

Patrick Boll, Todd Buonopane, Jennifer Cody, Joan Hess, and Joseph A. Morales will star in the TheatreworksUSA production of Kate Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk’s new musical Henry and Mudge, based on the books by Cynthia Rylant, which will play the Lucille Lortel Theatre, December 13-January 20. The production, which will open officially on December 17, will be directed by Peter Flynn.

The plot concerns Henry, who can’t find a playmate in his new neighborhood. So his parents buy him a great big, slobbery dog named Mudge, with whom he shares all sorts of visit. But when his cousin and best friend Annie comes to visit, she threatens to come between the boy and his canine pal.

The show’s creative team includes Devanand Janki (choreography), Paul Weimer (sets), Rob Bevenger (costumes), Jeff Croiter (lighting), and Eric Shim (sound). Flynn and Janki previously collaborated on the award-winning Theatreworks production of Junie B. Jones. Kerrigan and Lowdwermik’s previous musicals include The Woman Upstairs, Wrong Number, and The Unauthorized Biography of Samantha Brown. The pair recently received the 2006 Jonathan Larson Award.
