Davis, Hoffman, Nottage, et al. Set for LAByrinth Reading Festivals

The LAByrinth Theater Company has announced the selections for its two upcoming free developmental festivals of staged readings, The Barn Series Festival (November 27-December 15) and Live Nude Plays (December 16-17), both of which will be held at the Public Theater’s LuEsther Hall.

The Barn Series will include Raul Castillo’s Knives & Other Sharp Objects, David Bar Katz’s Philip Roth in Khartoum, Gian DiDonna’s A Sinister Man, Brett C. Leonard’s The Long Red Road, Lynn Nottage’s Ruined, Stephen Belber’s Fault Lines, Melissa Ross’ For Dear Life, Rebecca Cohen’s Switzerland, Elizabeth Canavan and Salvatore Inzerillo’s Lady Luck, and Kohl Sudduth’s Dead Letters.

Live Nude Plays will consist of Michael Puzzo’s Guaranteed Second Base, David Anzuelo’s The Killing Plays, Eisa Davis’ Six Minutes, and Ron Cephas Jones’ Able Man.

Directors for the festivals include Philip Seymour Hoffman, the company’s co-artistic director, along with Mimi O’Donnell, John Gould Rubin, Felix Solis, Lucie Tiberghien, Kate Whoriskey, and others.

Reservations are not necessary; seating will be general admission on a first-come, first-served basis, with patrons advised to arrive at the theater 30 minutes before the performance.
