On Tuesday, November 9, Colin Quinn’s new one-man show
Long Story Short opened at Broadway’s
Helen Hayes Theatre. Jerry Seinfeld directed the production, which is set to run through January 8.
First night guests included Matthew Broderick, Bobby Cannavale, Mario Cantone, Kathy Griffin, Tom and Rita Kitt, Michael Longoria, Regis and Joy Philbin, Tom Papa, Michael Richards, Joan Rivers, and Ben Stiller. In the show, Quinn comically examines over 2000 years of history, offering satirical takes on the attitudes, appetites and habits that toppled powerful empires.
Quinn is perhaps best known for his work on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, where he also served as a writer. Among his other writing credits are In Living Color and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. As a performer, he has been seen in such films as Married to the Mob, A Night at the Roxbury, and Grown-Ups, as well as the forthcoming Booted.
