Degrassi: The Next Generation Star Jake Epstein to Join Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark

Canadian TV heartthrob to play one of America’s favorite superheroes.

Jake Epstein, best known for his role as Craig Manning on the popular Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation, will join the cast of Broadway’s Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark at the Foxwoods Theatre as the alternate for star Reeve Carney in the role of Peter Parker, beginning on Saturday, December 8. Epstein will play Parker in the show’s Saturday and Sunday matinees.

In addition to his television work, Epstein has starred on stage in Green Day’s American Idiot (Will), Spring Awakening (Melchior), and Billy Elliot (Tony).

Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy Award-winners Bono and The Edge, direction by Philip William McKinley (The Boy From Oz), and a book co-written by Tony Award winner Julie Taymor (The Lion King), Glen Berger (Underneath The Lintel), and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Glee).

In addition to Carney, the cast of Spider-Man features Rebecca Faulkenberry (Rock of Ages) as Mary Jane, Tony Award nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde) as the Green Goblin, Katrina Lenk (The Miracle Worker) as Arachne, and Tony Award nominee Michael Mulheren (Kiss Me, Kate) as J. Jonah Jameson.
