Tony Award nominee Brooks Ashmanskas (Present Laughter), former Law & Order: Criminal Intent star Vincent D’Onofrio, and Drama Desk Award nominee Zoe Kazan (The Seagull) will join Tony nominee Ethan Hawke in The New Group’s upcoming production of Jonathan Marc Sherman’s Clive, which will run at Theater Row’s Acorn Theatre January 17-March 9. The production, which will be directed by Hawke, will open officially on February 7.

The work, which is inspired by Bertolt Brecht’s Baal, is set in 1990s New York and follows a songwriter who leads himself down a path of self-destruction. The production will also feature classic American songs performed live on stage, as well as original music by Drama Desk Award nominee GAINES.

The creative team includes Derek McLane (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), Jeff Croiter (lighting), and Shane Rettig (sound).

Hawke is currently appearing in Classic Stage Company’s production of Ivanov, along with Sherman. His many stage credits include Blood from a Stone, Hurlyburly, The Winter’s Tale, and The Coast of Utopia.

Sherman’s plays include Things We Want, Sophistry, Women & Wallace, and Knickerbocker.
