Meet Scarlett Johansson, Benjamin Walker, and the Stars of Broadway’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

A first look at the principal cast members of Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning drama.

The four principal cast members of the upcoming Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof met the press on Tuesday, November 27 at the famed Theatre District eatery Sardi’s. Directed by Tony and Emmy Award winner Rob Ashford (Evita), the production begins previews at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on December 18 in advance of a January 17 opening.

In the Pulitzer Prize-winning family drama, Benjamin Walker (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) stars as Brick Pollitt, an aging football-hero-turned-alcoholic. Brick and his beautiful wife Maggie, played by Tony Award winner Scarlett Johansson (A View from the Bridge), are preparing to celebrate the 65th birthday of Brick’s father, Big Daddy, played by Ciarán Hinds (The Seafarer), who is the biggest cotton-planter in the Mississippi Delta. At the same time, the already fragile relationship between husband and wife unravels with the recollection of powerful memories and sudden revelations of life-altering secrets. Tony Award winner Debra Monk (Curtains) plays Brick’s mother, Big Mama.

The cast also features Emily Bergl as Mae, Michael Park as Gooper, Vin Knight as Reverend Tooker, and Brian Reddy as Doctor Baugh, as well as Will Cobbs, Tanya Birl, Jordan Dean, Lance Roberts, and Cherene Snow.
