Tony Award Winner Blythe Danner to Replace Estelle Parsons in Broadway’s Nice Work If You Can Get It

Tony Award-winner Blythe Danner will join the Broadway cast of Nice Work If You Can Get It for a 12-week engagement from December 18 to March 10 at the Imperial Theatre.

She will take on the role of Millicent Winter, currently being played by Oscar-winner Estelle Parsons, who departs the company on December 16.

Featuring music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin, with a book by Joe DiPietro, and direction and choreography by Kathleen Marshall, Nice Work if You Can Get It stars Matthew Broderick as a wealthy playboy who falls for a feisty bootlegger, played by Kelli O’Hara.

The principal company also features 2012 Tony Award-winners Judy Kaye and Michael McGrath, as well as Terry Beaver, Robyn Hurder, Stanley Wayne Mathis, Jennifer Laura Thompson, and Chris Sullivan.

The ensemble includes Cameron Adams, Clyde Alves, Kaitlyn Davidson, Jason DePinto, Kimberly Fauré, Robert Hartwell, Grasan Kingsberry, Stephanie Martignetti, Barrett Martin, Michael X. Martin, Shina Ann Morris, Adam Perry, Jeffrey Schecter, Jennifer Smith, Joey Sorge, Samantha Sturm, Kristen Beth Williams, and Candice Marie Woods.

Danner won the Tony Award for Butterflies Are Free. Her many other stage credits include The Blue Deep, Suddenly Last Summer, Follies, and A Streetcar Named Desire.
