Your First Look at Maggie Grace, Sebastian Stan, and the Cast of Broadway’s Picnic

Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival also features Reed Birney, Ellen Burstyn, Elizabeth Marvel, and more.

The stars of Roundabout Theatre Company’s upcoming Broadway revival of William Inge’s Picnic met the Broadway press corps at their rehearsal studio on Thursday, November 29. The production, directed by Obie winner Sam Gold, runs December 14-February 24 at the American Airlines Theatre.

Sebastian Stan (Broadway’s Talk Radio) and Maggie Grace (ABC’s hit series Lost) lead the company as Hal Carter and Madge Owens. They are joined by New York theater veterans Reed Birney (Circle Mirror Transformation) as Howard Bevans, Tony Award winner Ellen Burstyn (Same Time, Next Year) as Helen Potts, Madeleine Martin (August: Osage County) as Millie Owens, Elizabeth Marvel (Other Desert Cities) as Rosemary Sydney, Ben Rappaport (Sex Lives of Our Parents) as Alan Seymour, Emmy Award winner Mare Winningham (Tribes) as Flo Owens, Cassie Beck (The Whale) as Christine Schoenwalde, Maddie Corman (Next Fall) as Irma Kronkite, and Chris Perfetti (Sons of the Prophet) as Bomber.

Picnic premiered on Broadway in 1953 and won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Set over Labor Day weekend, the work follows the relationship between Hal (Stan), a handsome young drifter, and the beautiful Madge (Grace). When Hal is run out of town, Madge is forced to decide whether their brief romantic encounter is worth following.

The production’s creative team includes Andrew Lieberman (sets), David Zinn (costumes), Jane Cox (lights), Jill BC Du Boff (sound), and Chase Brock (choreography).
