Ann Hampton Callaway to Preview New CD at the Blue Note

Ann Hampton Callaway will preview songs from her new CD Blues in the Night during a special engagement at the Blue Note , January 3-8 at 8pm and 10:30pm.

Joined by the Diva Jazz Orchestra, Callaway will perform such standards as “The Glory of Love,” “Time After Time,” and “Lover, Come Back to Me,” as well as original tunes including “Swinging Away the Blues.” She will also perform songs that she sings in two major, upcoming movies: “Isn’t It Romantic” and “The Nearness of You” (from Last Holiday, starring Queen Latifah) and “Come Rain or Come Shine” (from The Good Shepherd, starring Angelina Jolie and Matt Damon). The CD, Callaway’s first recording on the Telarc label, is due out in May.

Callaway received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in Swing! She is a popular songwriter, recording artist, and cabaret performer (often working with her sister, Liz Callaway). Her songs have been recorded by Barbra Streisand, Patti LuPone, Michael Feinstein, and others.
