Staged readings of three new musicals will be presented on January 20 and 21 as part of Goodspeed Musical’s inaugural Festival of New Artists. The show’s writers, composers, and directors will work with 32 seniors from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford.

Once Upon a Time in Narcissia, a modern take on Cinderella by Youn-Young Park and Susannah Pearse, will be performed on January 20 at 8pm. On January 21 at 2pm will be Randy Rogel and Kirby Ward’s Romancing the Throne, a musical about secret identities, palace intrigue, and a struggling actor who is cast in the role of a lifetime. The festival will conclude with I See London I See France (The Underwear Musical), a love story set in the world of advertising written by Jeremy Desmon (The Girl in the Frame) and David Guerriro.

Tickets to the readings are $10/$5 students, and there is a $25 ticket that covers all three shows. Call 860-873-8668 for more information.
