Full Cast, Creative Team Set for Philadelphia Theatre Company’s Nerds

Broadway stars Jim Poulos and Charlie Pollack will head the cast of the Philadelphia Theatre Company’s production of Nerds://A Musical Software Satire, January 25-February 25. The production, to be directed by Philip Wm. McKinley with choreography by Joey McKneely, will open officially on January 31.

The show, which features book and lyrics by Jordan Allen-Dutton and Erik Weiner and music by Hal Goldberg, is a musical take on the careers of technology pioneers Bill Gates and Steve Jobs (to be played by Poulos and Pollack, respectively). The show was previously seen as part of the 2005 New York Musical Theatre Festival.

The creative team features David Gallo (sets), Alejo Vietti (costumes), Mike Baldessari (lighting), Fitz Patton (sound), Zachary Borovay (projections), Dan Lipton (orchestrations), Nadia DiGiallonardo (musical supervision), and Matt Doebler (musical direction). McKinley’s directorial credits include The Boy from Oz and the New York City Opera production of The Most Happy Fella. McKneely received Tony Award nominations for his choreography on Smokey Joe’s Café and The Life.

The cast also includes Andrew Cassese (Paul Allen), Aaron Cromie (Herbert), Joseph Dellger (Tom Watson), Parish DuDell (Dustin), David Rossmer (Steve Wozniak), Chandra Lee Schwartz (Sally Engelbart), and Emily Shoolin (Myrtle).
