Boone, Burnham, Errico, Morrow, Naughton, et al. Set for Lyrics & Lyricists

Preliminary casting has been announced for The 92nd Street Y’s 2008 Lyrics & Lyricists season.

The series will kick off with It’s Magic: The Lyrics of Sammy Cahn (January 12-14) under the artistic direction of Tony Award winner Ted Sperling, with guest stars Laura Marie Duncan, Julian Fleisher, Capathia Jenkins, Karen Morrow, Clarke Thorell, and music director Jeffrey Klitz.

Up next, Rob Fisher will be artistic director of Life Is a Cabaret: A Tribute to Fred Ebb (February 23-25). Deborah Grace Winer will be artistic director of I’ve Got Your Number: Romance, The Rat Pack and Carolyn Leigh (March 29-31), which will feature stage direction by Mark Waldrop and music direction by John Oddo, and the vocals of Debby Boone, James Naughton, and Karen Ziemba.

Jeff Harnar will be artistic director of The 1959 Broadway Songbook (May 3-5), featuring songs from Gypsy, The Sound of Music, Fiorello!, and My Fair Lady. The program will feature Klea Blackhurst, David Burnham, Melissa Errico, Donna McKechnie, and music director Alex Rybeck, along with Harnar.

Finally, Andrea Marcovicci will be artistic director and star of Did the American Songbook End in 1965 (May 31-June 2), which will feature songs by James Taylor, Billy Joel, Joni Mitchell, and the Beatles. Her guests will include Francesca Amari, Kelly Houston, Lee Lessack, Stacy Sullivan, and music director Shelly Markham.
