David Burnham to Join Wicked on January 8

David Burnham will play the role of Fiyero in the Broadway production of Wicked, beginning on January 8. Sebastian Arcelus, the current Fiyero, will depart on December 16 and Derrick Williams, who previously played the role, will take over until January 6.

Burnham played the role of Fabrizio in the Broadway production and national tour of The Light in the Piazza. His other stage credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, and On the 20th Century.

Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel, Wicked features a score by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by Joe Mantello, with musical staging by Wayne Cilento. The cast of Wicked features Stephanie J. Block (Elphaba), Annaleigh Ashford (Glinda), Carole Shelley (Madame Morrible), Lenny Wolpe (The Wizard), Cristy Candler (Nessarose), Logan Lipton (Boq), and Steven Skybell (Dr. Dillamond).
