Happy day-after-birthday, Liza with a Z!

Tony Award winners Liza Minnelli and Alan Cumming will join forces for a one-night concert at Town Hall on Wednesday, March 13, a day after Minnelli’s 67th birthday. Emmy Award winner Lance Horne will act as musical director for the evening.

The concert, which was presented last summer on Fire Island, will feature the two stars sharing stories about their lives, as well as performing familiar songs from the Kander and Ebb musical Cabaret (for which Minnelli won the Oscar and Cumming won the Tony). Minnelli will also perform many of her signature tunes, while Cumming will sing his own compositions and pop favorites.

Minnelli’s most recent Broadway show, Liza’s at the Palace, won a 2009 Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event. She also won Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical for Flora the Red Menace and The Act. Her other Broadway credits include The Rink and Chicago.

Cumming’s many other stage credits include Design for Living, The Threepenny Opera, Elle and Macbeth. He can be seen on the big screen in Any Day Now, and currently co-stars as Eli Gold on CBS’ The Good Wife, for which he has received two Emmy Award nominations.
