The lambs of Silence! The Musical will not be silenced after all. The show was previously announced to close December 30th at the Elektra Theatre. In a rare move, the producers have decided to resume performances on January 18th, 2013 due to high demand for tickets. Silence! The Musical originally opened in New York at Theatre 80 in July of 2011.
With a book by Tony Award nominee Hunter Bell ([title of show]) and music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, Silence! is the unauthorized musical parody of the 1991 Academy Award-winning thriller The Silence of the Lambs. It follows FBI trainee Clarice Starling (Pamela Bob) as she enlists the help of refined British doctor/cannibal Hannibal Lecter (Harry Bouvy) in tracking another serial killer cryptically nicknamed "Buffalo Bill" (David Ayers). Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies) offers direction and choreography.
The current cast of Silence! also features Ashlee Dupré, Natalie Joy Johnson, Howard Kaye, James Moye, Topher Nuccio, Ronica V. Reddick, Sam Rogers, Kimberly Stern, and Doug Trapp.
The creative team for Silence! includes three-time Tony winner Scott Pask (Hair), with costume design by David Kaley, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, sound design by Carl Casella, music supervision by Mark Hartman, and musical direction by Brian J. Nash.
