The cast of Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 celebrated the new musical’s Ghostlight Records cast recording on December 10 at the Upper East Side Barnes & Noble. Show creator Dave Malloy and stars including Phillipa Soo and Lucas Steele performed during the event before signing albums for eager audience members.

Based on characters from Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace, Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 is an electro-pop opera that tells the story of Natasha Rostova, who arrives in Moscow to await the return of her fiancé from the front lines. When she falls under the spell of the city’s most charming rogue, it is up to the disillusioned Pierre to pick up the pieces of her reputation. The show plays at a specially created venue called Kazino, located in a tent on 45th Street in the theater district.
