The Acting Company's Annual Gala to Honor Director Mark Lamos

The Acting Company will honor director Mark Lamos (Cymbeline) and patron of the arts J. Barclay Collins at its annual gala on October 17 at the Metropolitan Club. Acting Company alumnus Stephen DeRosa (On the Town) will host the event.
Guests expected to attend the gala include actor Dana Ivey (The Importance of Being Earnest), former New Jersey Gov. Thomas Kean, producer Edgar Lansbury (Godspell), and actor Richard Thomas (You Can't Take It With You). The evening will feature cocktails, a silent auction, dinner, entertainment, and an award ceremony.
The Acting Company, a touring repertory theater, has reached 4 million people in the U.S. and abroad with 140 classic and new works. Proceeds from the gala support the company’s repertory of theatrical productions and arts education for underserved audiences.
Thomas will present Lamos with the Acting Company's John Houseman Award. The award honors Lamos' profound commitment to the development of actors and arts education in America.
Collins will receive the Acting Company’s Joan M. Warburg Humanitarian Award for his deep and longstanding dedication to giving back to the community, from supporting the arts and education, to helping raise funds for innovations in health care and new protections for the environment. Gov. Kean will present the award.
