Ben Platt and More to Star in Workshop of New Musical From Spring Awakening Scribes

Alice by Heart, a new musical from the writers of Spring Awakening, will receive an invitation-only reading on December 18. The workshop will be presented by MCC Theater and Kurt Deutsch of Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records.

Directed by Lear deBessonet, Alice by Heart features a score by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater, with a book by Sater and Jessie Nelson. The musical is inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

The workshop will star Ben Platt (Dear Evan Hansen), Ashley Park (The King and I), Mary Testa (First Daughter Suite), Anthony Ramos (Hamilton), David Patrick Kelly (Thérèse Raquin), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Thérèse Raquin), Riley Costello, Noah Galvin, Molly Gordon, and Andrew Mueller.

The creative team also includes Chase Brock (choreographer), Chris Fenwick (musical direction), and Jason Hart (music supervision).
