The dates may be set for the highly anticipated cinema screening of the Tony-winning Broadway musical Newsies, presented by Disney Theatrical Productions and Fathom Events.

While Disney spokespeople could not confirm the dates, the website Fandango lists the cinema engagement as Thursday, February 16, 2017; Saturday, February 18; and Wednesday, February 22. Official information is expected to be announced in December.

Jeremy Jordan stars, reprising his Tony Award-nominated performance as Jack Kelly, along with original cast members Kara Lindsay (Katherine), Ben Fankhauser (Davey), and Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Crutchie). North American tour stars Steve Blanchard (Joseph Pulitzer) and Aisha de Haas (Medda Larkin) also join the cast, with additional performers from the Broadway and North American tour ensemble.

Jordan and his fellow returning original Broadway cast members joined the cast of the North American tour for a performance filmed on Sunday, September 11, at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre in front of an invited audience.

Inspired by the 1992 film of the same name, Newsies tells the story of a group of tenacious newsboys at the turn of the last century who band together to form a union and lead a strike after selling prices are raised. The musical won Tony Awards for Best Original Score Written for the Theatre and Best Choreography. It features music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by Harvey Fierstein. At the time of Newsies' Broadway closing, it played 1,005 performances at the Nederlander Theatre.
