Award-winning Canadian actress Chilina Kennedy will replace Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller as the star of Beautiful — The Carole King Musical, beginning March 7. Mueller will play her final performance on March 6.

Kennedy made her Broadway debut in 2012 as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar.

"After seeing her excel over the years as the preeminent leading lady of Canada's Stratford Festival, I'm thrilled to welcome Chilina back to Broadway," director Marc Bruni said. "She's a unique talent, and I can't wait for the audiences at the Sondheim to experience the warmth, vulnerability, and humility Chilina will bring to the role."

Producers have also announced the addition of Jessica Keenan Wynn (Heathers), who will join the cast on March 7 as well. She makes her Broadway debut as Cynthia Weil, filling in for Tony Award nominee Anika Larsen, who will temporarily depart the show for maternity leave.

With a book by Douglas McGrath and songs from the Gerry Goffin/Carole King/Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil catalog, Beautiful officially opened at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on January 12, 2014. The show follows the life and career of singer-songwriter Carole King and her colleagues Gerry Goffin, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weil, featuring songs including "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," "One Fine Day," and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," among others.

The Broadway cast currently stars Tony winner Jessie Mueller as Carole King, Scott J. Campbell as Gerry Goffin, Tony nominees Anika Larsen and Jarrod Spector as Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, Paul Anthony Stewart as Don Kirshner, and Tony nominee Liz Larsen as Genie Klein.
