New York City's famed jazz club Birdland welcomed Broadway's own Jay Armstrong Johnson on Monday, February 6. Backed by a three-piece band, with new arrangements and musical direction by Rodney Bush, Jay guided the audience on a journey through some of his favorite career moments.

Johnson previously performed at Birdland in 2010 and was most recently seen in the newly revived New York City Opera's production of Candide, directed by Harold Prince.

Johnson's Broadway credits include starring as Chip in the 2014 revival of the musical comedy On the Town at the Lyric Theatre. Other Broadway appearances include Hands on a Hardbody, Catch Me If You Can, and his Broadway debut in the 2009 revival of Hair.
