Café Carlyle will welcome back two-time Tony-winning Broadway legend Chita Rivera for a series of performances from May 9-20. The run follows her acclaimed debut last spring.

A 10-time Tony nominee, Rivera was most recently seen on Broadway in Kander and Ebb's The Visit. She earned Tony Awards for her performances in Kander and Ebb's The Rink and Kiss of the Spider Woman, and she is well known for originating roles in Bye Bye Birdie, West Side Story, and Chicago, among other classic Broadway musicals.

Rivera was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama in 2009 and received the coveted Kennedy Center Honor in 2002, becoming the first Hispanic woman ever chosen to receive this award. In November 2016, she headlined at Carnegie Hall and in 2015, Great Performances aired their special Chita Rivera: A Lot of Livin’ to Do, a retrospective of her life and career, nationally on PBS.

At the Carlyle, Rivera will be accompanied by her music director Michael Croiter and trio.
