Darren Criss, star of Glee and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, has joined the lineup for the ABC television network's Backstage With Disney on Broadway: Celebrating 20 Years on December 14 at 7pm. The special will be hosted by Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and celebrate the 20th anniversary of Disney Theatrical Productions.

Produced by Lincoln Square Productions, the special will explore the creation of Disney's stage musicals Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aida, Tarzan, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Newsies, and Aladdin. Performers include Sir Elton John, Mary Poppins star Ashley Brown, Aladdin lead Adam Jacobs, and Nashville cast members Sam Palladio and Clare Bowen.

The evening will offer viewers the opportunity to visit backstage during a performance of "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin and to get a look at a rehearsal of The Lion King led by composer Lebo M. The national touring company of Newsies will also show how it prepares for its opening night in Philadelphia.

Rudy Bednar, Jeanmarie Condon, and Megan Harding serve as the show's executive producers. Lincoln Square Productions is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Broadcasting Companies, Inc.
