EXCLUSIVE: Eric Idle, Victoria Clark, and More Rehearse Monty Python-Inspired Not the Messiah

The Collegiate Chorale presents the musical, inspired by the film ”Life of Brian”, at Carnegie Hall.

The Collegiate Chorale kicks off its 2014-15 season with the New York City Premiere of Eric Idle and John DuPrez's Not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy), a comic oratorio based on Monty Python's Life of Brian. The concert staging, directed, and conducted by Ted Sperling, will run December 15-16 at Carnegie Hall.

Idle leads the cast, along with Tony winner Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza), Tony nominees Marc Kudisch (Hand to God) and Lauren Worsham (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), and opera tenor William Ferguson. Not the Messiah is a spoof on Handel's Messiah that features a pastiche of musical styles ranging from pop, country, and Broadway to doo-wop, hip-hop, and Greek chorus.
