Forest Whitaker to Host Performers4Peace Benefit Featuring James Monroe Iglehart

The concert event will also have performances by Lesli Margherita, Daniel Breaker, Constantine Maroulis, and others.

Broadway alum and UNESCO Special Envoy for Peace & Reconciliation, Oscar winner Forest Whitaker (Hughie) is set to host the Performers4Peace benefit concert May 9 at 42West. The event will feature performances by Broadway artists to support the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative’s work in peace and community building.

Performers at the benefit will include Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin), Lesli Margherita (Dames at Sea), Daniel Breaker (The Book of Mormon), Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages), Brandon Uranowitz (An American in Paris), Mara Davi (Dames at Sea), Marcus Paul James (Motown), Jill Paice (An American in Paris), Carly Hughes (Chicago), Mykal Kilgore (The Book of Mormon), and Catherine Ricafort (Disaster!). Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, coauthor’s of the musical Invisible Thread will kick off the night performing the show's title song. Additional performers are to be announced.

Performers4Peace is produced by Untitled Theatricals in association with Langfelder Presents. The concert will be music-directed by Annastasia Victory. Olivier Award nominee Stafford Arima will direct.

Founded in 2012 by Forest Whitaker, the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative’s mission is to help societies impacted by chronic violence and destructive conflicts transform into safer and more prosperous communities. WPDI currently has projects in South Sudan, Uganda, Mexico, Myanmar, and the United States.
