Jon Hamm, Sandra Bernhard, and More Take In The Fortress of Solitude on Opening Night

The new musical, inspired by Jonathan Lethem’s novel, plays the Public Theater.

The Public Theater opened its new musical, The Fortress of Solitude, on October 22. Inspired by Jonathan Lethem's novel, with a book by Itamar Moses and music and lyrics by Michael Friedman, the Daniel Aukin-directed production began previews September 30. The cast of the show is led by Adam Chanler-Berat and Kyle Beltran, along with Kevin Mambo, Rebecca Naomi Jones, and André De Shields, among others. Guests at the opening night festivities included Sandra Bernhard and Jon Hamm.
