Several Broadway stars will come together for the 2016 Annual "Theater & Therapy" Gala, an evening that helps raise funds and awareness for Creative Alternatives of New York. CANY is an organization that uses drama therapy to empower children and adults who have endured trauma to rebuild their lives. The event will be held May 16 in the Manhattan Ballroom at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Broadway veterans Ann Hampton Callaway and Tony Award winner Cady Huffman will cohost the gala, which will honor Tony Award winner Kelli O’Hara (The King and I) and Ron Tabano, Principal/CEO of John V. Lindsay Wildcat Academy for the work and support they have offered to CANY. Also on hand at the event will be André Bishop, artistic director at Lincoln Center Theater, and Nikki M. James, Tony Award winner for The Book of Mormon.

Kelli O’Hara will receive the Leadership Award for Arts & Healing, presented by Lincoln Center Theater producing artistic director Andre Bishop, and Ron Tabano will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by CANY’s program director and drama therapist Meredith Dean.
