Laura Benanti Joins Cast of TBS's The Detour for Third Season

Laura Benanti will join the cast of the TBS comedy The Detour for its upcoming third season. Written and created by Jason Jones and Samantha Bee, shooting will commence this summer.
Benanti's many Broadway credits include She Loves Me, Gypsy (for which she won her Tony), Nine, The Sound of Music, Into the Woods, Swing!, The Wedding Singer, In the Next Room (or The Vibrator Play), and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. On television, she has been seen in Go On, The Playboy Club, Starved, The Sound of Music Live!, Supergirl, and Nashville. She hosted the Drama Desk Awards in 2014 and 2015.
On The Detour, Benanti plays Edie, a character that began recurring during the second season. The series also stars Jason Jones and Natalie Zea.
