Liesl Tommy to Direct Episode of Ava DuVernay's TV Series Queen Sugar

Tony nominee Liesl Tommy (Eclipsed) will direct the 13th episode of the second season of the OWN TV series Queen Sugar, set to air later this year.
Queen Sugar is created, directed, and executive-produced by Ava DuVernay, with Oprah Winfrey serving as an executive producer. The series was recently picked up for a third season.
Tommy was the first woman of color nominated for a Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play for Danai Gurira's Eclipsed, starring Lupita Nyong’o. Other acclaimed world premieres she has directed include The Good Negro and The Urban Retreat at the Public Theater and Frozen for Disney.
