Lindsay Mendez to Join Ryan Scott Oliver for SubCulture Concert

The composer brings his ”Muse and the Music” downtown.

Broadway veteran Lindsay Mendez (Wicked) will join award-winning composer Ryan Scott Oliver on August 29 for Muse and the Music, an evening of Oliver’s songs performed by them both at SubCulture. Doors will open at 7pm for an 8pm performance.

Directed by Rodney Bush, the evening will feature a six-piece band accompanying Mendez and Oliver on some of their popular collaborations, never-before-heard songs, mash-ups, and stories.

Lindsay Mendez was most recently seen in the revival of Tennessee Williams’s The Rose Tattoo at Williamstown Theatre Festival. On Broadway, she been seen in Wicked Grease, Godspell, and Everyday Rapture. Off-Broadway she has appeared in Significant Other, Dogfight, and Everyday Rapture.

Winner of a Larson Grant, Rodgers Award, Lortel Award Nomination, among other accolades, Oliver wrote the music and lyrics for Jasper in Deadland, 35mm: A Musical Exhibition, Darling, Mrs. Sharp, Out of My Head, as well as the commission We Foxes. He was selected to open Lincoln Center's 2016 American Songbook series and is currently at work on the new musical Rope, a commission for Grove Entertainment.
