Meet Gone Girl's Carrie Coon and the Cast of Playwrights Horizons' Placebo

Daniel Aukin directs the world premiere of Melissa James Gibson’s new play.

The stars of Melissa James Gibson's new play Placebo met the press at their rehearsal room at Playwrights Horizons on January 23. Directed by Daniel Aukin, Placebo is scheduled to begin performances on February 20 and run through April 5. Opening night is set for March 16.

The company also features William Jackson Harper, Florencia Lozano, and Alex Hurt. The production includes scenic and costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Matt Frey, and sound design by Ryan Rumery. Kyles Gates is the stage manager.

Placebo follows Louise while she works on a placebo-controlled study of a new female arousal drug. As her work in the lab navigates the blurry lines between perception and deception, those same questions seem to pertain more and more to her life at home.
