Miss Saigon: The 25th-Anniversary Performance makes its world premiere in U.S. cinemas today. The filmed version is presented by Fathom Events, Universal Pictures, and PictureHouse Entertainment. Captured in front of a live audience at London's Prince Edward Theatre on September 22, 2014, the film features a special finale in which the 25th-anniversary cast is joined on stage by original cast members Jonathan Pryce, Lea Salonga, and Simon Bowman. The performance is produced by Sir Cameron Mackintosh.

The anniversary cast includes Jon Jon Briones as The Engineer, Eva Noblezada as Kim, Alistair Brammer as Chris, Hugh Maynard as John, Tamsin Carroll as Ellen, and Rachelle Ann Go as Gigi.

Featuring a book and lyrics by Alain Boublil, book and music by Claude-Michel Schonberg, lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr., and additional lyrics by Michael Mahler, Miss Saigon is inspired by Puccini's Madame Butterfly. The musical tells the tragic tale of young Vietnamese bar girl Kim, orphaned by war, who falls in love with American GI Chris — but their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon.

Fans will be able to view the event in nearly 200 select movie theaters. Additionally, as previously announced, Laurence Connor's production of Miss Saigon will return to its original home in New York at the Broadway Theatre for a revival beginning March 1, 2017. Briones and Noblezada will reprise their roles in New York.
