Christiane Noll, Eric William Morris, Steve Rosen, and More to Star in Reading of The Next Big Thing

The lab production of the new musical will be directed by Jim Ortlieb.

Laurie Oestreicher and LLL Magic have announced two developmental lab performances of the new musical The Next Big Thing, set to take place October 27 and 28 at the Helen Mills Theater.

The Next Big Thing will feature Tony Award nominee Christiane Noll (Ragtime), Eric William Morris (Mamma Mia!), Stephanie Rothenberg (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), David Perlman (Yank!), Steve Rosen (Peter and the Starcatcher), Timothy Warmen (Jesus Christ Superstar), and Mark Zimmerman (On the Twentieth Century).

In The Next Big Thing, aspiring actor Scott faces hardships and setbacks on the road to eventual wild success in Hollywood, only to discover a whole new set of burdens and struggles that come along with his new status as a celebrity. The seven-character musical, directed by Jim Ortlieb, features a score by Gerald H. Bailey and J. Laurence Lowenstein.

The Next Big Thing features choreography by Ryan Kasprzak, musical direction by Jeff Klitz, and lighting design by Benjamin Weill.
